Andrew Needhammer ARAD, RAD RTS He's danced leading roles alongside Rudolf Nureyev and Mikhail Baryshnikov on stages throughout the world. By the time he was 10, he was a member of the Joffrey Ballet in New York City. He later joined the National Ballet of Canada, where he performed in many ballets around the world, including leading roles in Nureyev's Sleeping Beauty. A registered teacher and associate of the Royal Academy of Dance, Needhammer currently directs the ballet outreach program of the School of Music's Community Music and Dance Academy in Flagstaff, AZ. Needhammer has been a guest artist for the Dancespace's Summer Intensives since 2006. |
Diane McNeal Hunt Diane has enjoyed a long and passionate career as teacher/choreographer and performer with Center Dance Ensemble, A Ludwig Dance Theatre, Desert Dance Theatre, and guest performer with Scorpius Dance Theatre. Her choreography is performed by Dulce Dance Company, Convergence Ballet Company, In Spiritus Dance Company and Chandler-Gilbert Community College. MarDi Dance Company, co-created in 1983 with husband/dance partner, Mark Vanek, features dances in original masks created by international artist, Zarco Guerrero. A Master Artist/Supervisor for the National Arizona Wolf Trap Early Learning Through The Arts, she models integration of performing arts with curriculum, provides teacher training/professional development workshops, and trains new artists. Since 1983, Diane has treasured returning as a guest Teacher/Choeographer for the annual Summer Intensive at The Dancespace in Page, AZ! |
Falicia Johnson Falicia began her dance teaching journey in junior high and high school in Lake Elsinore, CA. She was a dance team member and choreographer/teacher for her high school , and choreographed and performed in competitions for Long Beach Stage College, presenting at Magic Mountain and the USA Nationals. After high school, she continued her teaching career in Eugene, Oregon through Faith Center Church and the Norkenzie Christian Preschool. Johnson taught Jazz and Hip Hop at the Dancespace during the 2008-2009 season. This is her second appearance as guest artist for the Dancespace Summer Intensive. |

In addition to our Summer Intensive classes... We will spend one full day on Sunday hiking or biking our lovely Rim View Trail. We will also have a beach party at Lake Powell. Workshops will include outings to our beautiful local attractions for Intermediate, Junior Company and Company levels.
