Our Company, "In Spiritus"

The company members have all received their training largely through The Dancespace. Jan Kocjan is a registered teacher of the Royal Academy of Dance and has been teaching in Page in her privately-owned studio for over 25 years.

"In Spiritus" presents two concerts per year. In December, the concert encompasses Sacred Dance, to reflect the spirituality of the season. The June concert, "Dances in the Desert" will feature "In Spiritus" and "In Spiritus II" the junior company in contemporary dance styles.

"In Spiritus" continues to expand its repertory with exciting new works by director Jan Kocjan, company member Susan Cabral, and guest choreographers Diane Vanek and Gwen Jensen. The Company was selected to perform at the Arizona Dance Arts Alliance annual Contemporary Dance Festival in Scottsdale in April, 2003. "In Spiritus" has presented Liturgical Dance at the Sacred Heart Cathedral in Gallup New Mexico on several occasions, and performs for special feasts at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Page. “In Spiritus" and "In Spiritus II" perform regularly at the Coconino Community College, the City of Page's annual Pumpkin Festival, the Helping Hands Agency's Art Festival, and the city's Fourth of July Celebration. In Spiritus is regularly presented on the Lake Powell Concert Association’s Venue.

Auditions for "Inspiritus II" were held during the 2010 Summer Intensive. Lauren Norberg was accepted as a new member. Tiana Bartholomew, Jasmine Castro, Samantha Griffith, Marisa Demangone, and Hannah Larson are returning members.
