SUMMER INTENSIVE AT LAKE POWELL 2009 - JULY 6 thru 11, 2009
[ Schedule and Registration ]
Upcoming 2008 - 2009 Performances:
There are four major performances each year at the Cultural Arts Stage in Page, Arizona.
In December 2008 , Dancespace's resident professional company, "In Spiritus" will present their Christmas Concert on December 12, 2008. Then be sure to join us for a special holiday treat on December 18 and 19 when over 70 Dancespace students and community members will be featured in the Dancespace’s traditional "Nutcracker Ballet".
The Dancespace will bring another full-length classical ballet, Sleeping Beauty, to the stage on May 1 & 2 in the spring of 2009.
"Dances in the Desert,” a contemporary dance concert, will also be presented on June 5 & 6 in spring 2009.
Each child will be involved with these performances and will be expected to attend all rehearsals. Rehearsals will not be held during class time, but will be scheduled on weekends. Students will, in most cases, be responsible for purchasing or renting their costumes.
Creative Dance students will have one studio workshop each year. Parents and friends are invited to attend. They also perform in the Spring Concert, "Dances in the Desert".
Examinations. All Ballet students are encouraged to enter Royal Academy of Dance examinations each spring. Vocational Examinations will be held in March, 2008 in Flagstaff. Grades Examinations will be held at The Dancespace studio in April, 2009. These examinations are conducted by professional examiners dispatched from throughout the world. The Academy is the only professional teacher-training, examining body of this magnitude in the world. It is an international organization, based in London, England. The Academy was founded in 1920. More than 250,000 students from around the world are examined each year in over 80 countries, and their numbers are growing every year.
 2008 R.A.D. Examinations
Examinations are a valuable gauge of progress, and have proven to be a character-building technique-building positive experience for every student who has entered. There will be parent meetings in October to further discuss the Royal Academy of Dance and what examinations are all about.
"Parents' Days" will be held the two weeks prior to examinations, in which parents are invited to observe a "mock examination".
